Protesting the Cutting of Trees in Vrindavan

Tomorrow, June 5, 2010, at 10.00 a.m.
on the occasion of World Environment Day
in Bhagavata Nivasa
on Raman Reti Road, across from the Vrindavan Research Institute

Members and Supporters of the

Braja Vrindavan Heritage Alliance

will meet to express their deep displeasure and intense opposition to the cutting of Vrindavan's sacred trees.

The sacred town of Vrindavan has traditionally been identified with gardens, forests and nature. The wanton cutting of trees is turning it more and more into an urban wasteland !

We will not allow the holy land of Vrindavan to be turned into an asphalt jungle, built only for cars!

Come and join us as we tie the symbolic rakhi of protection around all the trees marked for destruction.

In the name of development, we widen roads.
To widen the roads, we cut down ancient trees like this one.
How will progress bring any auspiciousness
when it is based on horrible offenses to these eternal residents of the Dham?
